I decided to get rid of the unwanted hair on my body with the permanent hair removal. This decision was undertaken a while ago when one of my girlfriends shared her enthusiasm on how great it is not to have to worry about shaving or waxing. The first thought that went through my mind was the ingrown hair that I often get after waxing (I don’t know if you girls have this problem; I do and it’s awful). The little red spotting that often appears after shaving subsequently came to mind.
I initially tried the IPL yet I recently switched to the laser hair removal. Why? Because of the simple fact that results are not as great using the IPL hair removal, particularly as compared to the laser technique. I am at my second appointment at MediSpa and I can already see results. Why did I choose MediSpa? Well, let’s start with the beginning…
I had their services done five years ago when I decided to get a permanent tattoo on my upper eye lid (read the whole article about it here). I still have it and it looks exactly the same. The color has not faded at all in these five years. Moreover, MediSpa is one of the few clinics in the whole country that uses only top of the line equipment.
I would like to go into a little more detail about the actual laser that they use for this process. Here is some information that I found during my research on the best method for permanent hair removal.
“The Alexandrite laser is one of the most efficient methods when it comes to permanent hair removal.” That was published in many specialty magazines, compared to the Nd: YAG, IPL or electrolyze.
Out of all the systems of hair removal based on the emission of laser booklets, the Alexandrite devices have gained the trust of many specialists and also have the largest share of the market. The popularity of this particular type of laser is based on the wavelength of 755nm, which delivers a level of energy per plus at the root of the hair, incomparable to any other competing lasers.
The Alexandrite laser is currently considered one of the fastest and most efficient devices used for permanent hair removal, being used even on people with very pale skin (I-III skin type, based on the Fitzpatrick classification). Unlike other hair removal devices, the Alexandrite laser is extremely efficient even on very thin hair with less pigment: for instance, facial hair. Importantly, it is being used in most of the top specialty clinics around the world. The studies made in the US highlight the superiority of the Alexandrite laser to any other devices used for hair removal based on luminous energy, currently being labeled as “state-of-the-art” in the permanent hair removal field.”
After only two sessions, I can confidently say that, it is not only strong and fast, but also painless! You can read more about it on their website right here. If you have any questions, I will gladly answer; even better, I can pass it along to the staff of the clinic and we will work together into finding the best answers for you. I will make sure to keep you updated with the whole process. I am ready now for the summer and I cannot wait for it to come!
Ps. I also had a cosmetic treatment(facial?) done by Dr Kleanthous, of which I will tell you more in a future post. Until then you can read more about it on their website, here. Don’t forget this is the time when our skin needs special care and attention (the cold season)!
